The MegaShot pressure washer is simple and intuitive to use. It’s a great tool for cleaning decks, masonry patios, outdoor furniture, trucks, boats, large equipment, and prepping home exteriors for painting.

Portability

The MegaShot is light enough that one person can lift it into the bed of a truck. It weighs 56 lbs and has 12-in. never-flat wheels for ease of maneuverability across various terrain. The front of the pressure washer has sturdy rubber feet to prevent it from “walking away,” while the unit is running.

The unit has a welded steel frame construction with a powder-coated finish for durability and corrosion resistance.

Motor and Pump

The SIMPSON MegaShot Series pressure washers come with either a 208cc HONDA, KOHLER, or SIMPSON OHV gas engine.

The MegaShot puts water out at 3000 PSI and 2.4 GPM. It comes with a durable and more affordable axial pump.

This pressure washer has only three controls; and on/off switch, choke, and fuel shutoff. We found it to be intuitive to hook up, easy to operate, and effortless to start.

SIMPSON MegaShot 5-In-1 Nozzle

The SIMPSON MegaShot pressure washer has a 5-in-1 Nozzle permanently attached to the spray wand. This nozzle rotates allowing you to select, 0, 15, 25, 40-degree spray patterns, and a soap application spray to use for a variety of cleaning applications. This nozzle allows you to quickly and easily adjust spray patterns. Plus there’s no losing the nozzles anymore!

The spray gun stores conveniently on the Pressure Washer’s handle, like most pressure washers.

Using the SIMPSON MegaShot Pressure Washer

As a remodeling contractor, we use a pressure washer to clean surfaces, prep for painting, and most recently to remove graffiti off a client’s store.

The MegaShot started on the first pull every time and ran for several hours, sometimes until it was out of gas. We especially liked how quick and easy it was to change the 5-in-1 spray pattern nozzle. The 25-foot long MorFlex high-pressure hose was flexible and easy to manage. It will not scuff up surfaces and did not kink which is a pet peeve of ours. This hose rolls tight and stows nicely under the handle with an attached buckle and Velcro strap.

While cleaning we found the 3000 PSI was adequate to remove tough dirt, mildew off bluestones [patio] and spray paint off brick [with the aid of paint striper]

We did not use the soap applicator on the two projects we used the MegaShot on, but we did test it and found it worked fine.  One detail that we liked learning was that this pressure washer is Made in the USA.

We enjoyed using the MegaShot pressure washer and are now looking for more opportunities to pull it out of our tool shed.

Simpson Quik Stik Rafter and Truss Fastening System

The  Simpson Strong-Tie Quik Stik Fastening System is an auto-feed screw-gun extension, designed to drives 6-inch structural screws into top plates for truss and rafter connections.

Code Compliant Fastener

The Quick Stik replaces the need to use Simpson H2.5 hurricane ties by installing a 6” code-compliant structural screw. The Simpson 6” structural screws are orange for quick visible identification for building inspectors.

Quik Stik Extension

The extension is an aluminum shaft with spring and long fastener rod. The tool has orange “angle indicators” to assist in aligning the fastener properly. The key is for the angle indicators to be parallel with the wall  studs.

The entire extension fits on a drill or impact driver and measures 43.” It allows you to easily reach the top plate of a 8-9 foot height.

Fast Installation

The screws install quickly, require few tools, and hold fast. The Simpson Strong-Tie Quik Stik Fastening System equates to less labor and safer installation as it eliminates the need for a pneumatic tool, hose and ladder to perform the install.

Using the Quik Stik

I found that the learning curve on the Simpson Strong-Tie Quik Stik Fastening System is about 10 fasteners. After that your flying. Simpson does include a metal template plate to assist you in learning how to se the tool. Consider this template your “training wheels,” once you get the hang of it, toss it into the recycle bin and get moving!

We found the Quick Stik easy to use, safer and an absolute labor saver.  When you compare the effort and cost of installing H2.5 clips to the Simpson screw it’s a no-brainer.
