Time is money, and it seems that few contractors have a clear understanding of how to improve operational efficiency. There’s a lot of things that can be discussed in that previous sentence but one ground ball is tool organization.

We recently took a close look at the NEW Veto Pro Pac TECH OT-MC tool bag. The TECH OT-MC is a compact “open-top” tool bag with an internal plastic “box”, housing a repositionable “insert” box that allows you to customize your tool storage.

From the minute I pulled it out of the packaging I knew that this bag was designed by someone that actually used a tool bag to make a living. It clearly delivers a solution for contractors who need to hit that sweet spot of just enough tools, but not too much.

The TECH OT-MC is ridged and self-standing so it does not collapse on itself, a huge plus, not having to dig around trying to find something. The bags rigidity allows the tools to stand straight up for a fast visual to locate and retrieve.

Durable Construction

The TECH OT-MC bag has a Waterproof 3mm polypropylene base which means it could sit in standing water, while your tools stay dry. The bottom armor on this bag will not wear and tear like most soft tool bags.

The handle design keeps the handle upright and out of the way of tool retrieval. The handle is super tough, and there is zero concern that it will tear off, even if hoisting the bag fill of tools.

A wide, padded strap is supplied and attaches to two external stainless steel D-rings, with secure attachment to the bag body. The bag measures 18” H (to top of handle) X 10”L X 8”W.

Large Internal Center Pocket

A nice and needed feature on this bag is its interior injection molded plastic box that is perfect for additional tools like a impact driver, drill or more hand tools. A smaller repositionable “insert” box with lid fits snugly inside this center box and can be placed into five different positions for customization. This insert box and lid is perfect for commonly used parts and accessories.

Vertical Pocket Design

The TECH OT-MC bag is small but is designed to maximize storage space. The TECH OT-MC also features multiple vertical tool pockets for quick & easy access. These storage pouches are strong and stiff, and will not allow the tool to flop around.

28 interior & exterior pockets allow you to store your most used tools for fast location and retrieval. There is an outside mounted stainless steel tape clip for your tape measure. ..

Overall Impression of the TECH OT-MC Bag

This little tool bag amazed me at the amount of tools it holds and how sturdy it is, it is clear that a lot of thought went into its design. The Veto Pro Pac TECH OT-MC Bag is priced at $179.00 which is steep. Frankly, I love everything about this bag except the price.

I’m a fan of getting what you pay for and clearly understand that the price of this bag is reflected in its rugged, weatherproof design. It’s a tool bag that will keep your tools organized, protected, and easy to find. It will save you time and energy by reducing your walk-in weight and ready to go with your core group of tools. The TECH OT-MC Bag is truly a well-engineered bag and will I promise you it will outlast cheaper competitor bags by a long-shot.

We’re huge fans here at Tool Box Buzz. We have reviewed their products before and they have made the Holiday Gift Guide two years in a row. Their stuff is awesome.

Veto Pro Pac OT-LC and OT-XL Open Top Tool Bags

Once again I had the pleasure of testing some Veto Pro Pac Tool Bags and this time I tested the Open Top bags, OT-LC and OT-XL to be more specific. A couple of months ago I tested the Veto Pro Pac Model LC and found it to be one of the best tool bags that I’ve used.

Veto Pro Pac OT-XL Tool Bag

First up is the OT-XL Model which holds up to 76 hand tools in an open top model designed to hold some larger tools. Unlike the Closed Top LC model that I previously reviewed the OT-XL is large enough to hold cordless tools like drills and impact drivers. Some of the features include:

I really like the open top models that Veto Pro Pac is offering. However, I find myself struggling to figure out which I prefer, the open top or the closed top. No need to decide because I’m going to use one of each.

The open top bag will be great for all my drilling and fastening needs. I can carry several drills and impact drivers along with bit kits, drill bits, socket sets and everything I’ll need to accessorize the cordless tools.

The closed bag will be perfect for all my smaller hand tools like wrenches, pliers, screw drivers and misc cutting tools.

Veto Pro Pac OT-LC Tool Bag

I also got my hands on the Veto Pro Pac OT-LC Tool Bag which is a slightly smaller version of the OT-XL. The bag is actually only 3 inches shorter than the XL and offers the same basic features. It’s really nice that they offer these in several sizes so you can get a bag that fits your needs.

Until recently I hadn’t been a big fan of “Tool Bags” because frankly none of them have ever really impressed me. Moreover carrying around a Tool Box isn’t much fun either. Well I’m happy to say that I’ve found a Tool Bag System that has me very excited and I think you will be after reading about it.

The folks from Veto Pro Pac recently sent me their Model LC Tool Bag to test and review. The main design of all Veto Pro Pac Tool Bags is a system of vertical pockets that allow you to store all your hand tools in an organized layout that allows you to see all your tools easily.

Each Veto Pro Pac Tool Bag is hand made using 1800 denier body fabric, heavy duty  nylon stitching, marine proof rivets and snaps, and a 3mm polypropylene base. Once you touch one of these bags you realize they are built with exceptional materials to stand up to the rigors of the users profession.

Comfort & Organization

After using the Veto Pro Pac for the last few weeks I’ve come to marvel at the comfort and organization I have moving lots of hand tools from one task to another. Cordless tools have revolutionized how many of us do business and made us far more mobile. Combine those great tools with a comfortable, mobile, organized storage system for all you hand tools and now you can be truly mobile.

The large handle is extremely comfortable and very rugged. As you can see in the photos it has a large grip attached to a flexible connection to the bag. The padded shoulder strap is also very comfortable. Velcro on the handle helps hold the shoulder strap in place when you’re not using it so it’s not dragging on the ground.

Vertical Storage Is The Key

What makes these Tool Bags so great? Two things: Quality and Vertical Storage. If you look at the picture above you’ll see one side of my Veto Pro Pac LC Tool Bag filled with an assortment of screw drivers, pliers, knives, levels, chisels, clamps, nail sets, pencils and markers.

The Model LC has 57 pockets that can hold up to 75 hand tools! The layout of the pockets is really good and made it very easy to sort my tools in an organized system that made sense to me. As you can see the pockets are quite deep, deep enough that small compact drills, hammers, and other cordless tools can fit.

Folding / Snapping Zipper Covers

One of the features that I really like are the folding/snapping zipper covers. As you can see in the photos above the side covers are folded down for easy access to the tools. This is done by folding the covers down and using built-in snaps.

Overall Impression

Veto Pro Pac Tool Bags are very impressive. I can’t say enough good things about the quality and design of these vertical storage Tool Bags. These things are built to last and they were obviously designed by folks that work for a living. Not only will you be more organized but frankly you’re going to look more professional.
